It is that time of year to nominate for the prestigious "Blackwell Award" the "Foundation of Excellence Award" and the "Associate of the Year Award" whose 2026 recipients will be honored at our annual Business Meeting & Awards Luncheon in Grapevine during our 51st Annual Texas Roofing Conference, Thursday, October 22, 2026. Below you will find links to access these nomination forms with instructions.

All nominations will be given fair and equal consideration, and must be received by 5:00PM on September 15, 2026.

BLACKWELL AWARD

RCAT'S MOST PRESTIGIOUS AWARD! The annual Blackwell Award was established in 1984 to recognize an individual who has contributed significantly to RCAT, the roofing industry and who is dedicated to their work or by a specific contribution. This prestigious award was named in memory of Curtis Blackwell, who for 50 years gave his knowledge and experience to the roofing industry.

RCAT will present the Blackwell Award, during our Annual Business Meeting and Awards Luncheon on September 12, 2024, to an individual in our industry that meets the following criteria:

1. The award may be given to any RCAT member who has contributed significantly to the industry and to the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas either by specific contribution or by years of dedicated work; OR

2. The award may be given to a member of a regional, national or any other state roofing association who is directly involved in the roofing industry and who has made significant contribution to the industry; OR

​3. The award may be given to an individual who is not directly related to our industry, but who otherwise has made significant contributions to our industry. It is not necessary for such person to be a member of any association.

FOUNDATION OF EXCELLENCE AWARD

The Foundation of Excellence Award was established in 2012 to recognize and honor those individuals who have served the roofing industry and have shown many years of dedication. Each year the winners will be honored at our Annual Meeting and Awards event.

Criteria for this award: NOT A ROOFING COMPANY OWNER but rather an employee of a roofing company, a roofer, sheet metal employee, secretary, a salesman/woman with a manufacturer, an independent salesman/woman, roofing consultant, an employee of a supply house, etc.

ASSOCIATE OF THE YEAR AWARD

The Foundation of Excellence Award was established in 2021 to recognize and honor an individual from an RCAT Associate Member company who have served the roofing industry and have shown many years of dedication. Each year the winner will be honored at our Annual Meeting and Awards event.

​Criteria for this award: NOT A ROOFING COMPANY OWNER but rather an owner or employee of an Associate member of RCAT.
